Phase structure of U(1) gauge model on the truncated Heisenberg space

In this talk we will explore the connection between renormalizability and phase structure of noncommutative quantum field theories, viewed as matrix models. We will review the lessons learned from the renormalizable Grosse-Wulkenhaar model and try to see how they apply in the case of the nonrenormalizable gauge model on the truncated Heisenberg space.
