Deformed Heisenberg algebras in quantum cosmology

The Standard Cosmological Model predicts the Big Bang singularity, but there are many indications that quantum effects must come into play before reaching that point. A very efficient formalism to implement such quantum effects is that of Deformed Algebras, i.e. modifications of the standard Heisenberg commutation relations (or of the standard Poisson brackets in the classical limit) that can introduce in a simple way the kinds of cut-offs expected from Quantum Gravity. In this talk I will present the properties of these Deformed Algebras and I will implement them on different cosmological models, showing how they are useful in reproducing effects from more fundamental Quantum Gravity theories and in extracting phenomenological predictions.
